10 things i love about you...

well, not you really :)
I never posted pictures of the book that I made Adam for Christmas!
I used Elsie's "10 things i love about you" kit that I purchased from RVA.
I had made Adam a "10 things i love about you" book when we first met so I decided to do a married edition for his present.
Here we go:

I put a white piece of paper behind the clear pocket pages for the pictures to give you a better idea of what the pages look like.
I really love the simplicity of this book :)
As you can see from this book and my last mini book that I posted, I have really turned to a more simple, upcycled style in my scrapbooks. I like using items that I just have laying around and random supplies. I literally can't even tell you the last time I have been to a Scrapbook store :)
I hope you enjoy this book. It was a huge hit with Adam :)

**Speaking of Adam, his heart surgery that was supposed to be tomorrow has been unfortunately re-scheduled for March. There were some insurance issues (!!!!) so we have to wait until Adam's new insurance from ATT kicks in for his surgery to be covered. We are still unfortunately stuck with over $6,000 worth of bills from the ER and doctor visits. Isn't insurance kind of lame??
On the plus side though, God provides and we are just thankful that we were able to re-schedule, and that his new insurance will completely cover his surgery and he will feel soooo much better :) PTL!
AND...Adam's dad was planning to fly in for the surgery and decided to keep with his plans and is flying in today! Yay! We are so excited to be able to spend some time with him this week!
Soooooo happy!
Ok I will be back later for more loveliness so please check back.
I love you <3

  1. I love the book, and the 'random' stuff! Insurance company's are lame, but we couldnt live with out them :\ unfourtunatly. Have fun with his dad and enjoy the time together!
    XOXO Tiffany

  2. this book is pretty cute <3 i bet he was happy, right?! :D

but it makes me really angry reading about the trouble you are having with your health ensurance. maybe it's because i am from germany and everyone (!) here has free (well, sort of...) health care. i always wonder why a big and modern country like the US is having such a baaaaaaaaaad health care system. guess, i will never understand.

but i am really happy for you that the new insurance will pay for the surgery <3 even if this means, you will have to wait until march....

and also it sounds great that adam's dad is coming to visit <3 sweet!

  3. the book turned out great. i wish i would have bought one!
that sucks about the insurance. i have had the same issues. sometimes i wonder how you can be billed from 5 different places for 1 er visit!
    Good luck with everything.

  4. omg i love that book!!! you put so much effort into that for him...awww :) i hope his surgery goes well...that is a biggie!

  5. Love the book! Oh, how I love insurance company's, they can be the "debel" Have fun with your hubbys dad!

  6. What a wonderful book! :) sorry to hear about the hassle with your husbands insurance xxx

  7. insurance sometimes is a joke. sorry there were problems.((HUGS)) I hope everything will work out and he has a speedy recovery when he gets the surgery.

Have a awesome time with your fil!

btw---I love that book. Makes me want to do one.

  8. Your book is so special. I can feel the love. You look like such a beautiful couple and you also look like you are best friends.
I am so sorry you have to wait until March Adam and Janel. Just take it easy until then.
I know health care to governments is low down the list on their priorities, but if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

  9. Oh Janel the book you made is gorgeous. I am making something similar for Joseph for Valentine's Day.

I am so happy insurance is covering all of his surgery. That is great news!! Love you girlie and if you need anything at all let me know!!

P.S. my word verification was rearme....nice

  10. I love your scrapbook style! It is pretty similar to what mine would be if I ever actually scrapbooked much. And isn't it great being married to men that appreciate stuff like this? For Tyler for Christmas I made a book about 10 of my favorite memories with him. He really liked it!

    Hope your day is great!

  11. I love your book, it looks great. Sorry about the insurance problems. I am glad he was able to reschedule and will be better after March. Enjoy the visit.

  12. a very cute book! i love all of the pictures and little details!

that sucks about adam's surgery, but at least you guys will get to spend time with his dad, and that waiting for the new insurance gets the operation fully covered!

  13. So I have just been creeping and reading your blog until now, but that book you made is sooo cute I have to comment! I might have to make one of those for my fiance. Totally going to go get lost on that website now!

Insurance is super lame. I've been trying to get a breast reduction for like three years now. Arg. Hope everything goes ok!

  14. JANEL -
    i got your package today!!!
oh my gossssh, it was so cute. thank you so much! you're so sweet. i am going to blog about it soon, and i have been putting yours together, i just need a few more little things to add :) thanks soooo much.

this book is sososo cute! i love it.
and i am thinking positive thoughts for you and your hubby

  15. your album is perfect! you have the best smile.

  16. It warms my heart to see how much you and Adam love each other and to see how you show it in such tangible and creative ways!

  17. Super-cute! Sending well-wishes Adam's way. Insurance does suck. Take care!
