Fascinators: Hot or Not?

So, I promise this will be my last "Royal Wedding" related post but I just had to find out what you all think about "fascinators."
Are they hot or are they not?

(all images are from here)
I'm not going to lie, I kind of think they are pretty rad :)
I kind of even like the seriously ridiculous ones!
They make a statement.
What do you think?
hot or not?

ink blots...

I am soooooo excited that "Ink blots" is starting this weekend! Elaine has already posted a bonus prompt/challenge AND the most adorable free printables.
She already rocks as a teacher and class hasn't even started :)

Here is the journal that I will be using for this class.  I altered the front of a Kraft covered Moleskin and I am loving it...

And here is my page for the bonus prompt:

Seriously, if you haven't signed up yet, you should :)

all things royal...

In honor of the Royal Wedding tomorrow, I thought I would share some lovely "Royal Wedding" inspired items from around the web :)
Here you go!

Seriously so cute.  In high school I was totally obsessed with Prince William. Like my notebooks and binders were plastered with his photos.
Obviously it didn't work out between us which is good, because I found my prince :)
Yay for Wills and Kate.

instax week16

I am still a week behind on posting these but they are here :)
Last week, I took a photo of my favorite lilac bush at my parent's house.
The flowers on this bush are a true sign of spring!

Week 16

I heart spring a lot and I really really heart the smell of lilacs in the breeze.

the king's wallpaper...

So last night, after a long day of community service, I was ready to crash onto the couch and watch a movie.  After scrolling through "Video on Demand," I decided on The King's Speech.
The movie itself was really good but I have to be honest when I say I was completely mesmerized by the wallpaper of all things!!
Here are some screenshots from the movie to show you what I mean :)

I was totally inspired :)  So I went searching online for even more inspiration and stumbled upon this amazing website :)  It is a wonderful source for vintage wallpaper samples and visual inspiration. (It also has tons of vintage fabrics, curtains, and housewares)
Here are some of my favorite wallpaper patterns from the site:

After de-wallpapering all of the walls in my parent's house years ago, I swore I would NEVER put wallpaper up in my own house.
I might have to reconsider that promise because I am falling more and more in love with these bright, bold patterns!
Have you ever watched a movie that inspired you in a totally random way? I would love to hear about it.

Have a great Tuesday Friends!

1.  A soft pretzel hair clip!!! ummn....yes PLEASE!!  Tomorrow is National Pretzel Day you know :)

2.  I had seen this on Pintrest awhile back and finally found the original source.  I definitely need this chalkboard wall map someday!!

3.  This sign for our "Welcome..." area

4.  I would get like 5 of these for our home :) I am a sucker for vintage metal storage.

5.  And last, but not least, these earrings (and everything else in this shop)

I had way too much fun browsing this week :)  Anything here strike your fancy?
Happy Monday!

aftermath...

First of all I wanted to give a huge thank you for all of the texts, tweets, calls and so on the other night.  Our little city was hit HARD by an F3 or F4 tornado (they still aren't sure which one).  Adam and I were at my parent's house when it happened and that was actually where the worst of it happened.  The tornado hit many subdivisions around us but fortunately no one was seriously hurt.
Our neighbor, Dan Pipkens, is a phenomenal photographer (check him out) and he captured a lot of the aftermath around the neighborhood.  So many streets are blocked and it's hard to see how bad it really was without these photos.
Here are some of the photos that he took (there are a lot because I seriously can't even comprehend it without all of these photos).

and after the storm at my parent's home (Thank GOD)

So, we definitely need prayers around here.  There is a lot of devastation.  There are a ton of students and staff in my school district where I teach who have lost their homes and their possessions.  Keep the peeps of Maryland Heights and Bridgeton in your thoughts and prayers please :)
In other news...He has risen!!!
Happy Easter!!!
