Hi Run With Scissors readers!! We are Meghan and Angela, the sisters behind Deliciously Sew. We recently started this business together, and have been enjoying all of the fun and inspiration that comes with making handmade for a living! 

We both work by day and craft by night. Oh Melisa! Giveaway

Hi there, I'm Melisa. I am from Pittsburgh PA and I am a lover of all things handmade, fashion, and celebrity related. Myself and 3 of my best gal pals started a blog not too long ago about these sorts of things.

 I work at a tattoo shop as a receptionist but whenever I have a chance, I am making unique children's (and some grown up) clothing and things.

 My little business goes by "oh melisa!" I started making applique items about 3 years ago or so and have so much fun doing it! 

All of my applique designs are hand drawn by me, I then cut the applique from various fabric scraps, fuse them and hand embroider each piece. Because they are made from various fabric pieces, no two are exactly the same! It makes me happy to know that each piece is truly one of a kind just like the kiddo wearing it. a bee-utiful day.

As I mentioned before, my sister threw Amelia and I a shower of sorts to welcome her to our family!!

Baby Showers are so much better when the baby is actually able to be present at it!

It was nice having Amelia there with me and she was definitely the center of attention.

The theme was "Bee for Baby."

All of the little details around the room are what made this party so incredibly lovely.  

Can we just talk about the desserts for a minute??  My mom's friend Jackie (who made all of the desserts for my sister's baby shower) rocked it again with the food.

The cake pops were bees and bee hives!

There were also mini strawberry shortcakes, lemon bars, bee-striped sugar cookie, and chocolate chip cookies.

And we cannot forget the yellow and black chocolate covered strawberries!! 

There were so many friends and family members who came out to meet Amelia and shower her with love and goodies.

Instead of bringing a card with the gift, the guests were asked to bring a book to add to Amelia's ever growing little library.  It was amazing!!  She has soooo many great books.  Plus, she already loves being read to.

The party was great, and I was so happy that everyone was able to finally meet Amelia and she how amazing she is!!  She is so loved by so many people and she literally smiled almost the whole time.  You can tell that she felt all of the love that she was receiving.
A huge thanks to Nicole, and my mom and everyone else who put so much work into this day for Amelia.  These are the memories that I am sure she will always treasure.

the garden.

After our trip to the nursery, it was time to get the succulents planted :)

Target had these PERFECT plastic pots which were exactly what I was looking for.  I also loved how affordable they were.  I also scored some other planters as well that I am saving for flowers.

Unfortunately, we had about four carpenter bees hanging outside on our balcony so we decided to do our planting in the kitchen instead :)

A few years ago, I ordered the adorable little dino planter from this shop.  The succulent in the dino was getting too big so I wanted to transplant it and put a newer, smaller one in the dinosaur.

After everything was planted, we set everything up outside and enjoyed the fresh air :)

We also transplanted the lavender too and can I just say that it already smells so amazing out there!!!  I can't wait for the lavender to really take off!!

Now we have a lovely little outside area to read with Amelia and relax outdoors.  The weather has been so great here and we are loving soaking it all up together!!

Also, I scored this amazing rug at the DOLLAR STORE!!  It is so perfect and fun and cheap. Plus, it looks so perfect out there with all of the other bright colors :)

Next up in the garden, I am going to be making an herb garden!!
Stacy posted this herb garden she made and I am in love with it.

Her directions make it sound super easy to recreate and it will go perfectly out on our balcony!  This is definitely a project I will trying out soon :)
