perfect love expels all fear <3

This is what my life looks like every time I take one of Rachel and Elsie's online classes :)

I love it. Im not only constantly working on projects but I am 1,000% inspired to create all of the time!
Do you see Catalina's little bed in the background? It is her favorite thing ever but it is soooooo not going with my decor. It is pink and brown cheetah print :) LOL. So I decided to start recovering it to better suite our style. One of our online projects was an embroidered text pillow. I embroidered 'Cat' on some vintage feedsack cloth to cover the pillow part of the bed :)

Can I tell you that I totally thought I was hillarious for a good two seconds for embroidering Cat on a dog bed :) It's her name though :)
I also have been working on my Autumn Loves journal. Here are two pages that have been added to:

Oh, and I made over 60 paper cranes today! Unreal. Lots of little cranes flying out tomorrow:

AND I also wanted to share some lovely quilt squares that came this week:
Huge thanks to
Margot:

(also thank you for the lovely lovely amazing goodies that came with it :D)
Jenny:

(another package full of amazing goodies too!!)
and Lehua (who has the most beautiful handwriting):

Oh and there is this amazing giveaway on Katja's blog: www.maedchenmitherz.wordpress.com.

You can win absolutely anything from her etsy shop!! Everything is soooo cute :)
Finally, I am going to share some of my new favorites from the RVA update today:

eeeek! love love love.
Tomorrow is my favorite day :D
Today was hard. I had to say goodbye to a wonderful lady who was so inspiring with her love for Christ. She is with Him now...
Tomorrow brings a new day, a new beginning, i looooooove all of you!

the paper crane

(photo cred)
I loved all of the comments about the cranes on my post this weekend. I used to be obsessed with making these. I think that when I actually wanted to start making these was during the first season of Prison Break when (gorgeous) Wentworth Miller would send them down the pipes.
So, as I learned how to make them I also wanted to learn the significance (as always) of the paper crane. I found out that making 1000 paper cranes and giving them as a gift at a wedding is custom and brings 1000 years of happiness. When girls turn 13, they may present an admirer with 1000 cranes too. sooooo cute. I also read a book once about a little girl with leukemia who wanted to make 1000 paper cranes to put in her hospital room in hopes that it would bring good luck and cure her. Her whole community got involved in making them, it was a touching story.
So, this picture inspired me to make a bunch of them tonight, like bunches and bunches.
Who wants one?
I would loooove to send out all of my paper cranes to my lovely blog friends to brighten their days and send them good wishes and luck :)
If you want one, leave a comment with your email address and I will email you to get your address and off they will go :)
I want lots of comments because I want to send out lots of love <3
good night pretties...

monday inspirations...

and new obsession?
Becky, is always posting about these cute little Dunny's on her blog and her Flickr. I have thought they were sooo cute ever since I saw them on her blog for the first time. This weekend, while in Kansas City, I noticed that they were selling Dunny's at Urban Outfitters so I had to get one :)

He is sooo cute.
So, I obviously had to get the full scoop on them because I was a bit confused :) There are different series of Dunnys. A Dunny is a curved bunny with a smooth face, DUNNY is a blank canvas designed to be repainted and reinterpreted by artists from many different backgrounds. Dunnys are also Blind Box toys too. So you have no idea which one you are getting in the series. The outside of the boxes have the odds for each Dunny. The less chance that you have to get one, the more it's worth. Then there are also Chasers which are really worth lots. Oh my goodness. They are sooo rad and I think that I definitely need to start collecting these :)

Click here to find out more about Dunnys. And here to see all of the different ones out there.
I love, love, love them :)
Now I want a million. Thanks Becky <3

lovely weekend

This weekend was fun.
Super fun!
I had soooo much fun with all of my girls and my sister was the most beautiful bachelorette ever!!

love her <3
Good times were had by all.
P.S. I love this little display of origami cranes that was at Starbucks

I used to make these all of the time!
Tonight I came home to my honey and my sweet little Catalina and I am back to creating!! I can't wait to share some of the things that I have been making!!

26 September 2009

oh kansas city...

how I love thee <3
We are in Kansas City for the weekend to celebrate my sister's bachelorette weekend. We are staying in this amazing suite in an amazing hotel in the Plaza, which is...amazing!!
This morning we went to brunch at the Farmer's Market. The smells, the colors, the fall inspiration everywhere was beautiful <3

I keep finding cutie 28's that I am taking pics of (the day we got married):

Ummm....anthropologie?!?! I want to marry you <3

and OMG!!! Remember the dream couch?!? Like the one that I loved sooo much from urban outfitters, but the shipping took 5 weeks so I cancelled it and then got my other couch??? I saw it in the store today at UO and it literally is for a 6 year old. Let's put it this way, it was on a table for the display. Here is my friend Laura looking like a giant on this teeny tiny couch

CRAZY! you have no idea how much I laughed when I saw it and how happy I am that we cancelled it before it came. Yet, it was soooo small it would probably only cost five bucks to send it back.
Tonight we are headed out to the Power and Light District to hit the "clubs." Oh geez...not my scene but it will be fun I am sure. good times!

Project #6

done and done <3

This sweet little owl is made from a vintage sheet, felt, and vintage doilies (spelling?)
I love her so much and I hope that the special lady who I am sending it to loves it just as much.
I will probably make many more of these for all of the cutie-pies in my life.
I am also working on project #5 as we speak. Pictures are a promise but for now I am running soooo late for work. I am leaving straight from work to go to Kansas City for my sister's bachelorette weekend and I haven't even packed yet!! I need to seriously get busy!
Have an awesome weekend friends.
