mail call!

I am soooo in love with mail...packages, love letters, postcards, anything...I just love it. When I was little my grandpa and I would write each other letters every week (he only lived about 10 minutes away :D). He knew how much I loved mail. He was soooo cute because he always mailed his letters in these little purple envelopes and put a sticker on the back. When he died a few years ago, I actually found a stack of the purple envelopes and took them..I treasure them. If you ever get a letter in a purple envelope from me, feel really special :) I also belonged to every pen-pal program that was available. I had pen pals from all over the world just because I loved writing and recieving letters. Postcards are one of my very favorite things to get. I have a huuuuuge postcard collection. It's actually quite ridiculous. I have two boxes full. I just love them though. When Adam and I were dating and lived apart, we sent letters and packages at least twice a week. Nowadays, I just order things online to get mail :) just kidding! That's going to be my excuse for all of my Etsy purchaces :)
Here are some gorgeous "mail" photos that I found on flickr!!

Does anyone else love mail and packages?? Who wants to be my pen pal :) ??

  1. eeeeeep! i LOVE mail - REAL mail.
before i married my husband we lived in seperate countries and we'd constantly be mailing eachother goodies - letters, postcards, parcels - it was one of the things i looked forward to most! (well, aside from actually getting to see him in person :)
and it's one of my fave things about holidays and birthdays, because you get ACTUAL LETTERS in the mail :)
i'd be your pen pal for sure!

  2. I love receiving mail, and it looks like my daughter does too!! I had pen pals and would write to my hubby when we were living apart. It was nice to receive something personal each week.

I am soo envious of you and your talent. You are such a free spirit, with oodles and oodles of creativity!

  3. dude, i totally had penpals all through elementary, middle and high school...i don't receive much mail anymore - besides bills :[ and while i love ordering things online for more than one reason, there's nothing more exciting then coming home from a long day at work to find a package on the door step! :]

  7. I freaking love getting mail more than anything in the world.

I had a penpal from China when I was little that my elementary school hooked me up with. We wrote each other for years, but then I moved and, well, I don't really know why it ended, but I miss it so much!

You are so cute. You always post things that I am thinking about! Haha

    We should be penpals!

  12. I just said to my BF the other day....I'm going to send some balloons in the air just so that I can have a pen pal... I'm serious! I always liked that when I was younger and it hasn't changed. Everytime I open the mail box I'm hoping for some sort of surprise but it never happens. So yes I would love to be your pen pal.

  13. Awe I love mail too... When mark and I were courting we sent packages to each other like 2x a week; the funnest part is that now we are going on 6 years married and when we have a rough spell we pull out the packages and read through all our letters and fun stuff we sent to each other and... ahhh its amazing. Nothing like real mail :)

  19. Growing up, I had several pen pals. To this day, I still love writing letters and just as much, receiving them! My hubby was in the Navy for 8 years and so we did lots of mailing of letters. Now my brother is in the Navy and I send him letters as much as possible. I try and send some friends of mine across the country and in Canada and Japan letters as much as possible. I don't get as many back, but I still love to send them! :) Thanks for your post! Very inspiring!
