I have lived in this home for about 8 years.
I have been looking for the perfect table for just about that long.
I think I have gone through 3 tables and a tee pee in that space but it was never just perfect!
Yesterday, at the antique mall, I accidentally stumbled upon it...my dream table.
The same table that my grandma used to fold her laundry on in her basement...

ReplyDeleteI totally get this. I saw a photo somewhere the other day of a metal kitchen table with a red stripe around it - BOIBGO, I'm back at the kitchen table in the apartment I lived in till I was 9. Completely transported thu time and space.

You are so funny! They must be hard to come by there because I have three of them (and about 25 chairs! No seriously!) and I have a HUGE yellow one that I finally had to sell. Then again I have been collectin formice tables since I was a teenager (and most of my other furniture-I guess I was lame teenager to be collecting mid-century furniture and lamps!)

omg a sparkley formica table...so so so so so so sooooo amazing!!! my gosh, i would be ecstatic if i were you. wow, awesome find janel; suuuuuper jealous!! i once found a yellow formica table like that one at an antique store for $200, i had the money but at the time we didn't have the space...now that we're moving in february i could kick myself for not buying that table and storing it somewhere. one day i know i'll find my perfect table too. for now the little brown one that once belonged to my grandparents will do (i still love it too!)
