the paper crane

(photo cred)
I loved all of the comments about the cranes on my post this weekend. I used to be obsessed with making these. I think that when I actually wanted to start making these was during the first season of Prison Break when (gorgeous) Wentworth Miller would send them down the pipes.
So, as I learned how to make them I also wanted to learn the significance (as always) of the paper crane. I found out that making 1000 paper cranes and giving them as a gift at a wedding is custom and brings 1000 years of happiness. When girls turn 13, they may present an admirer with 1000 cranes too. sooooo cute. I also read a book once about a little girl with leukemia who wanted to make 1000 paper cranes to put in her hospital room in hopes that it would bring good luck and cure her. Her whole community got involved in making them, it was a touching story.
So, this picture inspired me to make a bunch of them tonight, like bunches and bunches.
Who wants one?
I would loooove to send out all of my paper cranes to my lovely blog friends to brighten their days and send them good wishes and luck :)
If you want one, leave a comment with your email address and I will email you to get your address and off they will go :)
I want lots of comments because I want to send out lots of love <3
good night pretties...
xoxo

  31. Aww, I love making origami cranes! Origami is such a mind-numbingly calming passtime for me :) I love making turtles, too! They might even be more fun than the cranes :) I live near china town, so I can always find these cute little hole-in-the-wall shops that sell the greatest origami papers. If you want to learn how to make a turtle just let me know, I'll post a video on my blog for you! :D
