wanderlust

Here is the lovely map that I was telling you all about.  I found it while searching "Cute US Maps" in google.  I liked the color scheme and the doodles inside of the states :)
This post is more for me than you all really because I wanted a place to document all of the places that I have traveled so far:
(You can click on the map to make it bigger)

This is also a great reference to look back on to see where I still need to travel!  One of my life goals is to visit each of the 50 states so, as you can see, I still have a few to go :)  Dear West Coast, I will be conquering you soon :) Love, Me.
So..who wants a visitor!!!
Besides all of the obvious reasons that I love my job as a teacher, another perk is the fact that I have 2 months to travel in during our summer.
Do you live in one of the states I haven't visited?
Do you know of anything cool to see in any of the states that I haven't visited??
Let me know!!

  1. If you're going to visit the west, you're probably going to drive through Utah and the place to see there is Salt Lake City... where I just moved too ;) If you need a tour guide, just let me know.
Also, I used to live in Seattle and recently went on an epic 10 day vacation there last summer so I know all the spots you wouldn't want to miss!

  3. I love the beach in North Carolina! My family likes to go to the Outer Banks - and there are a couple of lighthouses there that are really neat - some you can even climb up! :)

  7. Summertime is the perfect time to visit Minnesota! The weather is great and we've got a great music scene, amazing thrift stores, fantastic restuarants and 10,000 lakes!

  8. Michigan's rad if you like construction or snow. Otherwise, it's not really all that important to hit unless you LOVE fudge, but even then, EVEN THEN, I think there are other places that probably make even better fudge. Us Michiganders just don't realize it...

I think pretty much everything there is to see in Michigan is better off being seen in another state, unless, like I said, you like construction or snow.

Or really poor cities that don't have much other than homeless people, jobless people, and drugs to offer (ie. Detroit)

  9. You've been so many places I'm so jealous! I want to travel so bad. Ha! Great idea tho! If you want a physical map check out this http://lifeblessons.blogspot.com/2010/10/making-artwork-my-travel-map-craft.html
    Good luck conquering all 50!

  11. Colorado has the Rockies, which is good. If you like hiking, whitewater rafting, or tubing down lazier sorts of rivers, you'll want to come in the summer. If you prefer skiing and snowshoeing and the like, you'll want to come in the winter.

I'm pretty sure I hit every single state as a child, but I can't remember lots of them, so I'm starting over.

Canyoneering in Utah is awesome, but you HAVE to go with someone who knows what they're doing. People who go alone end up in movies like 127 hours (I've totally been in that canyon, btw).
