Magical <3

Yay!! The challenge word for Running With Inspiration today, was 'magical.' It took me a long time to figure out what to do. Usually when I think of something to be 'magical' I automatically think of music and love. Well, I wanted to really push myself with this challenge and think outside of the box. SO then I started thinking about things that are magical like fireworks, unicorns, Harry Potter, etc :) When I was little I thought that when the picutre came out of a polaroid camera, my dad was using magic. It is something that even today seems so magical to me!! I love it and the idea that it captures a memory in a split second to share for eternity makes it even more magical. This piece took me 4 hours to complete!!! Here is my second submission for the Running With Inspiration challenge!!

This is an original sketch that I had done in one of my journals. The background is painted with blues and purples, the camera was painted on the canvas and then embroidered as well. I love embroidery...talk about magical :) This piece is on 8x10 stretched canvas and is now available in my Etsy shop! **SOLD! THANK YOU!!
Now, hop on over to Jamie's blog and see her rendition of Magical!! I looooove it!!!

  2. this is so cute! wonderful job!

i thought (actually my mom told me) that there were little elves in the big blue postal service boxes on corners, and that the elves were the ones that got the mail to everyone. so if i did this it would probably have been some silly picture of an elf getting stuck in the mail slot--not quite as cute as your polaroid picture, for sure.

  3. lady, you make me blush!

pictures will definitely be taken, and probably sent to you first!

last time i got my haircut was two months ago, and the girl that cut it was pregnant (like suuuper pregnant) so i don't even know if she's cutting hair anymore or if she's at home taking care of her baby girl (i'm too scared to call and get bad news, then i'll have to find another one!).
