Although our home is cute and wonderful just the way it is, it is teeny tiny. By teeny tiny, I mean that it's around 930-ish square feet tiny.
Don't get me wrong, I have lived here for 8 years and even with Adam and Catalina, and even a baby, it will be enough.
We would obviously LOVE a bigger home, with more storage space and a yard and a garage, but for right now, that is just not feasible.
Our home has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and a spare room.
That spare room is a jam packed, wall to wall, studio space for me.
What that room needs to be is the baby's nursery. We know that there won't be a baby occupying this room for quite awhile, maybe even a year (at the most hopefully) but still Im impulsive and I want to start getting the home baby ready.
I'm nesting...
and I'm not even pregnant :)
So, how in the world am I going to turn all of this:
into something more like this:
Who wants craft supplies?? I have no clue where I am going to put everything that i have to pack up! We are seriously going to have to rent a storage locker or something until we get a house.
Or maybe we can make a little studio nook in the living room near our table?
Too much!
Any ideas how to make everything work in a small space?

You would need something like this. http://craftgossip.com/blog/win-a-craft-hutch/2009/09/01/
ReplyDeleteJanel I would be happy to take some craft supplies off your hands to make room for your nursery.
ReplyDeleteI am sending you a personal email!

Just combine the nursery with the craft room....that way the baby will get inspired and be a very crafty girl!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean when it comes to space. Our home is 900 sq. ft. We have 2 small bedrooms and 1 bathroom. When we eventually expand our family we will have to use our 2nd bedroom for the nursery. Currently it is full of boxes, shelves, supplies, tools, etc. We have no garage, no storage shed, only an attic. We made our hallway closet into an office nook and plan to use as much drawers and closet as possible for my crafting and sewing supplies.
ReplyDeleteI'd say get really high shelves for in the baby's room and an awesome stool so you can get to said shelves and the buckets and baskets you put on top. So, basically, make it a nursery below six or seven feet, and your craft supplies the rest of the space.
ReplyDeleteKind of like in this picture: http://www.treehugger.com/cat-house.jpg, how the shelves are all the way around the house, but only around the nursery and with craft supplies instead of awesome cats.
a miracle!!
ReplyDeletei have a blog friend who has decorated the most delightful nursery ever.. I must find the post and send it to you!

I want craft supppppplies! :) And good luck converting that! You are creative, you can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh! I'm having the same problem! I think 1/2 the baby's closet is going to have to be super organized storage bins of craft stuff. It's ok though, baby studios are better than craft studios ;)

ReplyDeleteBabies are small and you'll want them close to you anyway! Make your bedroom part nursery!
ReplyDeleteI combined our nursey with my craft room....I kinda like that I can craft away and still be close to my bug when they are napping. You could have a virtual craft garage sale of sorts too!
