Amelia's New Nursery

Last Saturday, was the day I decided to do Amelia's Nursery Makeover!!  I painted the room "Lincoln's White Sash" the night before but it only took me 9 hours total to complete the entire makeover.  Besides the crib, book shelf, and changing table, everything else in the room is completely different.

Here we go!

I went with a "black and white and bright" theme.  As I mentioned before, I really wanted to streamline her room and make it more practical for a little one on the move.  Less clutter, more cute.

Since I am sure I will get questions about where I purchased things, I will link the items that stand out.  I am going to link the original sources to buy each of these items.  Most of them, I got from those shops but others I bought second hand for a way cheaper price :)

This is Amelia's little wall of art.  I hope to build on it as I find more things that I love or as she creates more art.  Most of these were prints that I had collected throughout the years for her and didn't pull out of their envelops until now :)

Ok, here is the other side of the room.  Here we have her changing table area, a new chalkboard wall, and a vintage school desk that serves as a table for misc. items :)

I am in love with this curtain.  I thought it was sooo cute and perfect for Amelia and her room.  The little vintage green box was from a yard sale and holds misc things like Amelia's earring care solution, neosporin, lotion, etc.

The jars were a quick and easy DIY project with mason jars, plastic toys, and spray paint :)  Easy peasy and oh so cute!!  The large jar houses Amelia's hair bows and the other three house chalk, crayon rings and crayon gems!

Every room needs a chalkboard wall right?!  Espeically when your mom and aunt are art teachers!!  I can't wait for her to be able draw all over this wall.  It makes me so happy just thinking about it.

My sister also scored that cute chevron pouffe somewhere on ridiculous clearance and is letting us have it for the time being.  The chair is a vintage school chair, the rug is Dwell. 

That is it!! I am so happy with the way it turned out. I was super excited that my vision became a reality with this room in 9 short hours too!

It fits Amelia's bright little personality perfectly as well.

Nursery Makeover

This weekend I re-did Amelia's nursery in 9 hours.

Technically I painted the room the night before (which took about 90 minutes) and the rest of it I did the following day.

I loved her room before but it was sooooo cluttered and not practical for a baby on the move.  Plus, like I said before, I can't stay with one look for too long.  I love this new modern, streamlined, bold new look for Amelia's room.

it's happening...

Amelia's room makeover is in full swing.  I am learning how to do a makeover VERY cheaply. 

I have been shopping closets like crazy on Instagram and selling things like crazy as well.

It's such a great thing!!

All of the money that I am making through that is going right towards new items for Amelia's room makeover.

In other news:

*  I need more time in my days

*  I still haven't started this past week in my Project Life album (which is soooo unlike me)

*  Amelia's court date is coming up in a few months so we are getting everything together that we need for that.

*  My online art journal class starts October 1 and I seriously can not wait to dive into that journal!!

* Amelia got her ears pierced today!! ( a whole post on that later).

makeover.

I love Amelia's nursery.

It is one of my favorite spaces in our home.

BUT, I am ready to completely re-do it :)

Even though this little sweetie has only been living in this space for 6 months, I have had it completely decorated and ready to go for over a year!

I get tired of decor really quickly.

It's not a good thing sometimes :)

The good thing about this is that her main staple pieces (i.e. crib, dresser, rug, shelves) can all stay.  I just need to de-clutter, simplify, and add re-do the accent pieces, fabrics, and art.

I have been pinning A LOT of children room photos for inspiration and I am excited to tackle this little project.

I am definitely ready for change.

I will probably be selling some things online, maybe open up a little pop-up shop full of cute new and vintage children things.

I still have one blank wall in Amelia's room that needs to be filled.

showered!

This weekend I hosted TWO baby showers for my sister and little Jack. 

They were amazing :)

The theme was "shower" as in a rain shower:)

We made tissue paper clouds that hang all around with paint chip rain drops hanging from them.  It was so adorable.

All of the decorations were handmade, and I think that gave it more of a special touch for Nicole.

The best part of having two showers in one weekend was that we could just keep all of the shower decorations up for both days!!

My mom's amazing friend Jackie made all of the desserts for the parties.  We had cake pops, mini strawberry shortcakes, home made chocolate chip cookies, pecan cream cheese cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries...yummy!!

oh my golly.

I feel as though I am kind of a cake pop connoisseur and I can be 100% honest in saying that these were the BEST cake pops I have ever had...hands down.

So, Saturday was more of a smaller shower with all of our close college friends, and some of Nicole's friends from work.  During this shower, I had a "onesie" making station set up so that everyone could make a cute onesie for Jack.

These turned out to be so fun and so cute.

It was the best time :)

Sunday was a HUGE shower with all of our family and close family friends. 

We skipped the craftiness for this one and focused more on presents and food (the important things right?)

I think this little one's face is a perfect picture of how full of love this day was for Nicole. 

 (Seriously, does it get any cuter than that?)

We are so blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people who are willing to get together and celebrate us on these occasions.

Nicole, I hope you had the best two days ever.  You really deserve the best.

I love you muchly.

Oh and while we are talking about Jack and Nicole...how cute is his nursery?!
