As most of you know, by day, I am Mrs. MacLean: art teacher to around 350 kindergarteners through fifth graders. I love my job :)
I thought it would be fun to give you a little peek into my classroom and my daily art teaching life!
Thank you for checking out my art room, my messes, my fun!
I am super blessed to have such a fun, rewarding job :)

What lovely images! I love the box collage sculpture thingy (last pic). That's something that I think my preschool students would enjoy.

DeleteLouis Nevelson is the artist, I did this with First grade gluing found items onto Popsicle sticks. Her work is really awesome and this is a well done recreation.

ReplyDeleteMan! If my art classrooms looked like that when I was in school, I would have been more focused. I love your classroom! It's sooooo awesome. I like the 'art around the world' wall. Aw man! Are those the Prang watercolors? I wonder if they sell those at michael's. okay, I'm rambling now, but seriously, awesome room!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your room and office! so inspiring! What grade(s) do you teach?
ReplyDeleteyou have done a lot of work to make your classroom look as good as it does! remarkable.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing post. I wish my work space looked like this! I always wanted to be an art teacher, but my university abandoned our art ed program during my freshman year. Maybe one day I will go back and get a masters degree in Art Ed. Seriously...I dream of having a studio like this and a classroom full of artsy students everyday. You are you lucky!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your art room!!! I've thought about teaching art before...so fun!
ReplyDeleteYour classroom looks beyond awesome! It looks like such a happy place :) It's the kind of classroom that your students will still remember years later when feeling nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteYour room is awesome! It sort of makes me want to come be a student.

I am going to teach my first year of 7th grade art this year, and am very focused on art history and drawing inspiration from great artists. I love your use of Munch turned into an elementary friendly(er) look. You should look into Judith Klausner, she is a brand new artist but does low relief in Oreo cookies. I use toothpicks and go through the process kids love it cause the unfrosted side gets eaten and then as you sculpt the frosting you may as well eat that too.
