Proverbs 31 Woman-Guest Blogger Haley!

Hello RWS readers! My name is Haley and I blog over at ElizabethHaley and at After Your Heart! I have had the pleasure of knowing Janel for a few years now and she has been one of the greatest mentors (read: big sister!) in my life... I know for a fact she's going to be a fabulous mother! :)
In the spirit of Janel's brand new motherhood, I thought I'd share what's been inspiring me lately about biblical motherhood, more specifically, the Proverbs 31 woman!

"(25) She is clothed in strength & dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (26) She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. (27) She watches over her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. (28) Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: (29) 'Many women do noble things but you surpass them all.'"

Janel, you are prime example of a P31 wife and mother. You have inspired me beyond measure, and you continue to do so every day. In the days to come, I just want to be an encourager to you, as you have encouraged me in the past.

Be strong on the tough days. There will be those days when Amelia throws up like everywhere and there's mountains of baby clothes that need to washed and the diapers are awful (nanny life has taught me a lot! Ha!), but you can rejoice in the fact that not every day is like this. And while the day is tough, there are always those redeeming qualities - like when precious little Amelia giggles for the first time, and those sweet little cooing noises, and how sweet she looks while sleeping. It all makes it worth it!

Be a role model. As Amelia grows and becomes a beautiful young lady, I have absolutely no doubt that you and Adam will raise an awesome, God-fearing young woman. Just as you have been a big sister to me, be the strong, faithful mother to Amelia. Be there for her when times are tough, and show her the Christlike way of handling situations.

Date your husband! When I started working as a nanny, what I found most astounding about the couple that I work for is, despite the fact that they have 4 kids and an insanely busy schedule, they still take one night a week to go on a date. It could be a date to dinner and a movie, or as simple as a trip to the grocery store, but they still make it a point to go out, just the two of them. I think this is the most amazing thing! And Amelia will see the difference it makes on your marriage, and trust me - it will effect her future relationships in a mega good way. There is no better way to influence her future marriage then exemplify a healthy marriage during her early years. :)

I feel silly giving you advice, seeing as I'm suuuper not a mom and not even married, but these words have been laid on my heart, I thought I should share them with not only you, Janel, but your fabulous readers! I'm praying for the health and safety of your precious little girl, and I'm praying for you and Adam as you make the awesome journey into parenthood! You will do great, I just know it. :)
