Eames

Yesterday, Amelia and I watched the Charles and Ray Eames Documentary!!
She needs to get an early start with her art appreciation.

**

I learned so many cool new things about this amazing couple.  There is so much more to them then their AMAZING furniture.  (BTW-  I can't believe the original Eames chairs only sold for $25!!!!!)
I learned about their filmmaking, and about their advertising work.
They also played a huge roll in trying to keep peace between the US and Russia which I think is so so so cool too.  You know I love a peacemaker.
In honor of the Eames', I am going to post a little tribute to all things Eames :)

I am obsessed with their chairs...pretty much all of them.

Their MCM patterns

I loved seeing all of the letters that they wrote to each other and their loved ones. It reminds me of the letters that I write with all of the little doodles :)

And I absolutely love the solar powered "Do Nothing Machine" :)

And last but certainly not least, The Eames House in the Pacific Palisades.
This is a must see when I go to LA.

I will leave you all with this quote from Charles Eames today :)

Eventually everything connects - people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se.
Charles Eames

Love it.
