one little word: 2013

Brave is my "one little word" for 2013.

For those of you who haven't heard of "one little word" be sure to read this.  Basically,  one little word is the word that you would like to sum up your new year.
Last year, my word was "peace" and it was a perfect word for 2012.  I really focused on finding Peace in my life amidst all of my anxiety fueled moments.  I loved reflecting on my word throughout the year and I can truly say that I my life is so much more peaceful :)

Last year, it took me forever to come up with my word but this year, I knew my word almost immediately.  Last years word, had a million meanings behind it and this year's word is plain and simple.
This year I want to be more brave in my decisions, in my actions, in my roles as a wife, mother, and teacher.  I want to bravely encounter life every single day, step out of my comfort zone and live life bravely.

I plan on doing a spread in my Project Life album, dedicated to my one little word again, like I did last year.
I think it's a good way to introduce the rest of the year and see how everything will eventually tie in with my one little word :)
Even Adam came up with his own "one little word" this year!!  He chose Free, I love his reasoning behind it too.  He's so inspiring to me :)

Dear 2013,
Bring it on.
Signed,
Janel

What's your one little word this year?

  2. I'm thinking of the word PEACE for my OLW this coming year also. It has came to mind a few times and then with the tragedy in Newton it's really all I think of. My other OLW for next year is STORY, it seems PL has taken over my life and not much in the scrapping world got done. Would like to start scrapping again and start telling my story this year. Picking 2 words kinda works for me, one just for me and the other for the family.

I like your new word for 2013 and wish you all the luck with it. I think you will do great things with it. Love all your PL posts, read thru them and love how you are capturing your little one.
    Have a Merry Christmas!!

  3. Love your word. Mine will be : CULTIVATE.
When I picked it, I grappled with whether it will truly help me to better capture 'me' this year, whether it will force me to grow because that's what I need to do. I'm a mom of 7 so I've cultivated children, I homeschool so I've cutltivated their minds, I've cultivated my relationship with my husband of 24 years, and so much more, but I have not moved forward with my businesses of quilt designing or my herbal business of selling my salves and tinctures like I need to ~ to cultivate Anna. I paint murals and canvases.....why have I not done 50 so I can sell one when people ask? Why is my garden not twice the size and my deck not a haven for my herbs and mosaics? So, yeah, cultivate....that's my word.
