Hello Everyone and welcome to my little home on the internet...Run With Scissors.
My name is Janel.
This is me (Drawn by the lovely Moorea).
and this is me with my family (taken by the talented Jodie).
I am 32 year old wife, mother, art teacher, DIY lover, decorator, collector, list maker, reader, and of course, a blogger.
I spend a ridiculous amount of time decorating and re-decorating our home. It's one of my favorite things to do.
I am a lover of all things creative. I have a tiny little space in our living room where I get my creating on.
I am a believer of peace and happiness.
I love Jesus, Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi, and Shaquille O'Neal (seriously, I have a signed basketball).
This blog is a place where I can share my creations with the world.
I have been blogging since early 2008. This blog started as a place to document my engagement to Adam and all things wedding related.
Aren't we so cute and young in our engagement photos?
In 2009, we were married a couple of times :)
Once in St. Louis (so that our Pastor could marry us and so that we wouldn't have to do a bunch of crazy paperwork to get married in Mexico)
and then again in Cozumel, on the beach, with all of our family.
In November of 2011 we began the domestic adoption process and three very short months later, we welcomed our sweet daughter into the world.
Amelia was born on February 29, 2012 and our lives have never been the same since. She is my everything.
If you are a new reader, you can go to learn more about our adoption journey here.
This blog has grown with me to include my daily life, my art, our adoption, my life as a new mommy and about a million other random things.
Thank you so much for visiting this space. I spend a whole lot of time here and it makes my day that you come and read what I write.
I have met some of my very best friends through this blog and cherish all of the friendships that I make here.
xo

Janel,
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a long time now, anonymously, but I had to comment today. Good luck with your meeting, I hope you get the baby you so want and deserve very soon.
I'll be praying!

I recently became a Tastefully Simple consultant so I could help families fund raise for their adoption. I would love to have a party for you! All online, so very simple.

I loved reading your adoption story, and was rooting for you through the entire thing (even though I knew how it ended). I'm so happy for you both!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the Love Letters to Adam for 2011 was one of the coolest ideas EVER. Are you doing it again during this year? And are you going to do a Love Letter journal to Amelia, too?

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have domestically adopted 2 wonderful kiddles! Our daughter came to us through Project Cuddle (www.projectcuddle.com) and our son was through a friend of a friend. God certainly worked to bring our family together. We were matched with our daughter in Feb 2006 and she was born in April, and we met our son's birth mother in August 2009 and he was born at the beginning of September!
Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!
