One of my most favorite times of the day is story time with A.
Even though she is only 7 weeks old, she has really enjoyed being read to from very early on. When we read to her, she is so engaged and engrossed in the book. Her eyes follow the pages, and she smiles a lot while listening. To her, the more words the better. She loves to stay on one page and listen to our voices.
Here are some of our favorite books that we are reading these days:
2. Alice in Wonderland
3. The Very Lonely Firefly
4. Of Thee I Sing
5. Hello, Bugs!
6. On the Night Your Were Born
7. Pantone Colors
8. You are My Work of Art
9. The Skin You Live In
I love when the book not only grabs her attention, but also has an awesome message or a character building message. I know that those aren't really things that matter as we read to her this early, but I like thinking that these things will stick with her when she gets older and wants to read them.
What are some of your faces?

My daughter is almost 2 and she has loved chicka chicka boom boom since she was a newborn. The bright colors and the rhymes with a sing song flow always gets her attention. If Amelia doesn't have it yet she deffinitely needs it.
ReplyDeleteOOOhhh we love On the night you were born {# 6}.
ReplyDeleteKhols has a book program where you can buy this authors books for $5 which is such a good price considering the quality of the book.
It is only during certain times of the year--around holidays--etc. Next time, I'm buying every book this author has. The book is just too adorable!

You Are Special by Max Lucado. I bought myself a copy. Also, some of the older Golden books like We Help Mommy. And I am partial to my author/illustrator uncle's books, Mark Teague. :) Oh, and A is for Annabelle by Tasha Tudor. I'm sure I'll think of more...
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! Books!!!! I love reading to my little ones. You should check out if your local library has a baby story time. Ours does...and my little one loves it. Thanks for your awesome blog!
