busy bee.

I have been very busy making lots of cute things lately.
I finished the quilt the other night!

I was scared to try sewing the binding on with a machine because the last time I did that it looked soooo bad. It's like Im not coordinated enough to sew and check both sides at the same time :) Instead, I hand sewed all of the binding the way my mother-in-law taught me :) Her way looks so nice!!
She rocks :)
and so does my new Spring Quilt!
love.
Ok, and here are some more art journal pages for my class!
Thoughts on be an art teacher:

This page, I did, to share the fact that I love quilting again :)

and here is another one that isn't quite finished yet. I used a piece of vintage fabric on this page and some washi tape. I love it right now but I definitely want to add a picture on here and a little tiny bit of words....we'll see.

Edited: Here is what I ended up doing with it :)

and finally, here are some better pictures of my last two pages that I shared with you :)

The rest of my time has been spent getting ready for my garage sale Saturday and playing with Picasso! love that little guy!!
Ok, my lunch break is almost over so I better get back to work!
love you friends :)

my little brother :)

Meet Picasso!

Today my parents adopted this sweet little baby chihuahua from the Humane Society. They have been waiting two years to find their perfect match and this little story couldn't have played out more perfectly :)
This pup was rescued from a hoarder who had over 20 dogs! Insane. I couldn't think of better parents for this cutie than my mom and dad.
He is as big as one of my Toms!

and I'm pretty sure I have never seen my dad this happy:

Welcome to the family Picasso!!

art journal pages

Here are two more pages that I have done in my art journal :)
Yesterday's prompt was to focus on pictures:
I used a bunch of my instax mini's to show some of the amazing pieces of my life:

(sorry for the world's worst quality pictures, I'll take better ones tonight :D)
I wanted my accents to all be neutral so that the pictures would be the main focus on this page.
The next prompt was "Take a Closer Look."
The instant I read that prompt I knew I wanted to do page based on the beauty and kindness and love that is found everywhere in every situation if you look closely enough:
So, here it is :)

and a little closer look:

This class is so refreshing and really fuels my love for art journalling.
Thank you for all of your comments that you have left about my pages and my quilt. I love them all so much :)

coming along...

After school today I decided to drag out the iron, and work on my spring quilt.
I ironed all of my rows and stiched them together to make this lovely quilt top :)

After that I layed out the backing, batting and quilt top and started to pin, pin, pin.
Then it was time to start the quilting!

And the finished, quilted quilt...

do you want to see the cutie-pie backing fabric?

Gorgeous!
Tomorrow, I will bind it and then cuddle with it. Yep, that's the plan :)
Also, can I just say that I have the most amazing online friends?
I do.
for real.
Today, I received one of the most thoughtful, kind, and personal gifts in the mail. Each item was placed in the envelope because they all were things I adored.

It doesn't get any better than that.
Dear Jenny-Lynn,
You made my entire month.
Thank you for being so kind and wonderful.
I am soooo glad that we have become great friends.
I love you.
Ok friends, I am off to bed! I have a garage sale to get ready for this weekend. I have soooo much stuff to sell but not a lot of time to get it all priced and set up! eeeek!
On a side note, my parents are hoping for something really exciting to happen tomorrow. If you pray, please pray that it happens for them :)
love love love you.

a spring quilt...

Tonight, I decided to start sewing a quilt for spring :)
I bought the "Vintage Rainbow" quilt kit that Rachel Denbow made for RVA a while back and decided that the colors, patterns, and florals were absolutely perfect for spring :)

I placed all of the squares in the perfect places (I couldn't find one of them for awhile though :D)
And began to sew all of the rows together :)

and because I didn't feel like busting the iron out, I stopped there for tonight. BUT, I will say that if I didn't stop there, I believe I could have finished this quilt tonight :) Rachel made this quilt kit so easy and convienient.
I am feeling so inspired these days.
It feels amazing :)
oh, and here is my art journal page from today too:

I hope tomorrow brings you a fun and creative week!
love you.

Here are the other pictures of my studio space that I promised :)
Adam came home from work tonight with supplies to hang my pegboard! (Yay, one goal marked off the list below :D)
It looks really good.
I organized, made a cute paper bunting to hang above it and did a little decorating for cuteness.
What do you think?

I'm in love,
with this space...
and my handy man :)
Time to create!
