Today was a lovely end to our trip to Springfield. I really feel super blessed to be able to call Elsie and Jeremy friends for life. Amazing people :)
Also, check out what I got while I was at the shop:

That Indie Husband is soooo good to me :) He also got it because he looooves Vivs and her work almost as much as I do. I feel like an official Robot with this cuuuuute bear hat!!!
Here are the last few pics from Springfield this morning:

When I got home there were two more quilt sqaures in my mail box!!! I am looooving this!
Thank you to Carly:

and Jess:

AND AND AND!! I also received these lovely RVA goodies courtesy of my very sweet friend, Chelsey :)

Thank you sooooo much. Your kindness is overwhelming :)
My blog friends are the BEST!!
Alright friends, I am soooo tired and I think that I am going to watch a little bit of Season 2 Mad Men and then head off to dreamland :)

Magic <3

Because of traffic and crazy rain storms, our 2.5 hour trip to Springfield lasted 5 whole hours!!! It was insane. We were sooooo late getting to the party but were so fortunate that the super fun people all stayed around and waited (we love you!!). As you can see, the store was as magical as ever:

I swear if it wasn't so warm outside, you would have thought it was autumn the place was sooooo cozy and wonderful.
There is even a crafting station in the back of the room now where tonight, you could make pipe cleaner nerd glasses :) There is soooo much autumn inspired loveliness in the store right now....

I am going to have to do some shopping today before we leave :)
I was able to meet ANOTHER one of my special blog friends tonight!!!

We had a nerdy girl photoshoot by Will! His pictures left with him for Kansas City though so I can only share the ones that Indi Husband took quickly:

Will took a ton and I can NOT wait to see them :) We even got individual nerdy shots too :) He is great!!
Big thanks to Rachel (and Ruby) for staying around to see me!! Any ammount of time with this lovely lady is totally worth it. She's amazing:

After the party, Adam, Elsie, and I headed to downtown Springfield for a delicous dinner and then she took us Andy's (the frozen custard place that they are famous for). It was soooo good. Frozen custard is soooo silky :) loooved it.
Once, we got back to the loft we had a late night crafting party into the wee hours of the morning.....magical!! I started embroidering my Toms...I will have to post a pic later :)
Today we are off to Big Mamma's for coffee and muffins, the chocolate shop, and, of course, some RVA shopping as well!! I can not wait!!
looooove,
janel

Holy Cuteness!!

Oh my goodness, I have stumbled upon the CUTEST Etsy shop ever :) When I was young, I was a girl scout. I was super serious about it and I loved everything about it. One of my most favorite things was earning the merit badges. If I could still earn merit badges for life today, I would totally go for it!! Does anyone else feel the same way? If so, you will love this shop so much too!!

This cute shop:

They actually sell these amazing merit badges for everyday activities :)

"Each badge is lovingly silk-screened in dark brown, hand painted with colour, and hand embroidered. All done on cotton and cotton blends, reinforced with interfacing and cotton padding for strength. Also has a pin back sewn to the back for easy attachment to your favourite sweater or jacket." (exerpt from the shop)

Each merit badge comes on one of these lovely cards:

There are over 40 different merit badges that you can earn there :)
Here are some of my favorites:
For "Quitting Cold Turkey"
For "Tying the Knot"
For "Being a dirt bag" :D
For "Having some meat on your bones"
For "Barking up the wrong tree"
For "Being sharp as a tack!"
For "Being birds of a feather"
For "Being proud as a peacock"
For "Surviving your first love"
For "Making your house a home"
For "Being busy as a bee"
For "Knocking my socks off"
For "Pushing the envelope"

Jump over there, and tell me which merit badges you would earn from their shop :) I love it!! I may have to start making some of these for me and my friends :)

New Painting Love

Last night, I was inspired to paint.
It seemed with the coming of September 1, everyone was blogging their odes to Autumn :)
So...I painted, a pretty large painting at that:

I <3 this painting :)
Autumn is most definitely welcome here anytime!
Alright, I am off to school now...Have an awesome Thursday.

My life this week :)

So, I got home from Bible Study tonight and sat on my couch. I looked down at the coffee table and this is EXACTLY what I saw:

I have been doing loads of creating! Adam and I finished season one of MadMen and are awaiting pay day so that we can rent season two. We are officially hooked :)
**My goal for next week is to complete some projects before starting new ones. That way I am not quilting, painting, and embroidering all at once. I painted a new painting tonight, autumn inspired, and I loooove it! I will post pics when it is finished.
In other news, Adam and I are headed to Springfield, Missouri Friday night for the RVA nerd party :) I can not wait!!
Alright, off to paint, paint, paint <3
