A Merry Cha-Cha Christmas

I am not sure that I express how much I love my friends enough. My group of girl friends in college were called the Cha-Chas. We were way too cool to join one of the two soroities in college so we created are own and somewhere between an American Eagle T-shirt and my birthday we became known as the Cha-Cha's. We have sweat pants and T-shirts and many crazy videos to prove it. I love my friends. Seriously whoever said highschool is the best years of your life, must not have gone to college.
Well, tonight was our annual Cha-Cha holiday pot luck. Unfortunately, this is the one event a year when we see some of our friends. You know how it is, life happens, jobs, husbands, moves, all of that and it is hard to get everyone together under one roof. Every year we have sooooooo much fun and we promise to hang out more often and, there again, life happens :)
So, here are some pictures of my amazingly beautiful, inside and out, BFF's The Cha-Chas....I miss you girls already and it has only been an hour!!!!
(P.S. the party was at Suzie's new house this year and her new puppy, Marley, was the most popular girl there....so stinkin cute)!

This past weekend...

was AWESOME!!
On Saturday, Nicole and I had an all day Sister Craft-a-thon planned. It was a day full of felt, embroidery thread, hoops, paint, presents, charms, donuts, and DQ. What more could a girl ask for seriously?? She came in at about 9:00 am and then left at about 4:00ish. My hands seriously were aching from all of the crafting but it was sooooo worth it!! Here are some pics from our day of crafts:







I actually started a painting...something I would have never ever thought of doing in my life, but so far...so good! I may post a pic when it is done :) Adam came over Saturday as a little surprise:) We had tons of fun playing The Office DVD Board Game and then spending 2 hours at Borders. We love book stores just as much as we love books!! Here we are having fun at Borders on Saturday night (It doesn't get any cooler than that, eh?)!


Sunday, after an amazing Advent Sermon (my favorite kind), Adam, my mom and I went dream home shopping in New Town. Ever since New TOwn was built, about 10 years ago, I have dreamed to live there. It is so stinkin cute, and colorful, and they are now building an art district!!!! Perrrrrrfect! Nicole and I have big plans to take that over:)
So, Adam and I fell in love all over again while house shopping. We saw houses that were ridiculously large and huge and wicked pricy. We also found some that were sooooo perfect but still too pricy for us. I am lucky that my mom and Adam were there to be the "reasonable" ones. I am too much of a dreamer. It was super fun! Here is Adam and I standing in front of our favorite house that will sooo be ours in like 2 years and 2 lottery ticket winnings in the future!

Lastly, a weekend is obviously not an awesome weekend unless it is ended with a fashion show right?? Well, how about a fashion show put on by your mom :) I let my mom go through all of my old clothes that are TOO SMALL for me now (1/2 of them still have the tags on them still). She was so cute. She definitely was humoring me by putting on some of these outfits :D


And yes, my lovely friends, that is my mom in leggings and Jellies!! And... What!??

Holy Freezing Cold Batman!!

Tonight was super fun....After school my aunt and I did a lot of mission trip shopping. Every Christmas (as posted before) we go down to Reynosa, Mexico to a small colonia built in a trash dump, and build homes for the beautiful, amazing, loving families who live there. I have posted about this experience before so I won't go into all of the details and how if home is where the heart is, then Reynosa truly is my home!
Anyway the trip is just around the corner and we always take a ton of shoe boxes filled with Christmas gifts for all of the children in the colonia. So, tonight we went shopping and filled three carts with goodies. I love it!! It was a lot of fun. I also found some neat little holiday, sparkly items to turn into some kitschy holiday garland (inspired by Elsie's class)!!
The streets, driving home, were absolutely ridiculous. It was like driving on an ice rink for awhile there. So, now I am at home, resting sagely, off of the icy road and hoping for a snow day miracle tomorrow!!

Do you love my new blog header as much as I do?? I am so excited about it!! My new online friend Holly Sarah (who I met through Elsie's online class) created it for me, and I adore it!! Holly Sarah is definitely one of the most creative people in the class. Her work is soooo inspiring and it always puts a smile on my face!!
The best part about it...she has an Etsy shop!! That means that I can buy and have some of her awesome creations (and so can you!!) Yesterday I recieved this awesome Eco-journal made of 100% recycled materials....looooove it! She puts so much extra detail in her work!


I am sooo excited to start filling it!

Happy December!

Wow, it's December!!
Yesterday was fantastic...I had a shower with all of my girlfriends. It was a fun mix of old friends, new friends, work friends, and Cha-Cha friends. Nicole, as usual, was an amazing MOH. She threw this shower and it was so cool. She had even made a video of Adam answering all of these questions about himself, me, and us that she played at the shower so that everyone could get to know him. Very few of my friends have met Adam since he lives out of town. It was soooo cool. I love when I get to spend time with my friends. LOVE!
I will post pictures from the shower when I get them from Nicole (hint hint :D)
Today I am starting my Alie Edwards inspired Daily December journal. I am super excited about this. It is just a super creative way to document the month with pictures, memorabilia, and words (obviously). This, I do have pictures of. I assembled this book in early November so that I would have it done and ready to journal in by today, December 1. I will not bore you with all of the pages, but I will bore you with some :) Note: Please forgive the quality of the photos. I am in a room with disastrously bad lighting and I hate using the flash :)
