one little word 2014

Seriously, does anyone still even read this blog :)  I miss it like woah.  I took a year off from it and it was a lovely break.  But I miss it.  This year I have lost all of my photos from my computer and others in a flooded basement so this blog has been a saving grace for my memories.  Also, I didn't pay for my domain name (which I paid $10 a year for) and now the company that bought it has it up for auction with a minimum bid of $650.  1.  No thank you.  2.  Lame.

Sooooooo, this year I am participating in the One Little Word challenge, as I always do.  This word has popped into my head over and over this past month and after reflecting on it and praying about it I have decided that my word for 2014 is going to be…

I need some serious simplifying in my life.  

With the big move into a house, and a fresh new budget, we need to seriously simplify our life over here.  

Simplify our finances

Simplify our possessions

Simply our decor

Simplify our life.

It's a "simple" as that.

Im super excited to have this blog again as a journal for myself and family. I love having a place to document it all for Amelia.  I also LOVE that it's one extra place to store my photos :(

I have a fairy BLOGmother!

Hello Friends.
Welcome to my new space!

The AMAZINGLY talented Erika of T.E. + Baby created this new look for Run With Scissors and I couldn't be more happy.

She is THE fairy blogmother :)

Erika was so amazing to work with. I gave her a vague idea of my vision, yet she completely read my mind and came up with layout that exceeded my dreamiest expectations!!

This whole layout and all of our communication and installation took less than a day to do.

I tell you, she is amazing!!

Some Points of Interest:
1.  The new navigation bar at the top of the blog :)

 Now you can read all about me and the blog, you can contact me (easily), check out the shop, and read through some Frequently Asked questions!

2.  I finally have all of those adorable social media links!!!

Now you can check me out on Facebook, Twitter, RSS, Pinterest, Bloglovin', and Flickr! 

Did you even know I had all of those awesome things??

3.   A new fresh blog button over there on the sidebar!! Grab it!

4.  This cute new photo of me and my best girl :)  I like it, I like having a for real photo of myself on here so you know who you are talking to!

5.  And this is one of my favorite parts...I have these awesome little links on the side with some of my most blogged about topics.  If you want to read about adoption; click it!  If you want to see our home; check it out.  It's all there!

6.  Ok and now is my most favorite part of the blog re-do.  If you hover your cursor over the photos in the posts, a button will show up that says "Pin It."  All you have to do is click it and you can instantly pin that photo!!

How rad is that?

This will be available on all of my new posts :)  

The first photo will have the pin it button and then you can pin any of the photos in that post!!
How stinking cool!!

That message goes straight to Courtney because seriously...have you seen the new blog look?? Eeek! I squealed when I saw it.  I was so excited and she seems to always know my exact vision without me even telling her!! I love it Court, and I love you!! If you need any design work done, or a fresh look on your blog, please do yourself a favor and talk to Courtney :)

The next exciting thing that I wanted to bring to your attention is an AWESOME journal class that is coming up!!  

As I have said a million times, Elaine, is one of my very favorite journal-ers.  Her work is original, adorable, and so very very inspiring.  

She is amazing.

Anyway, Elaine is teaching an online journal class, her very first, and I am BEYOND excited to be taking it.  It is only $12 (what a steal) and I can pretty much guarantee it will be worth every single penny.
