Yesterday was a really great day all around.

We started off the day with Cardboard Testimonies at church.  If you aren't sure what they are, you should google it, they are really powerful and neat.  Adam and I had a great testimony to share this time so it was exciting to be a part of it.

After church, my lovely friend Haley called to tell me that her and her honey, Blake were engaged!!!

I was so excited because they were in town so they shot over to our house so I could congratulate them and so that they could meet Amelia.

Amelia loved her auntie Haley so much (and Blake too).

After our little visit my sister and I went to dinner at the Schlafly Tap Room before the Florence and the Machine concert.

So, once we got to the show, we met up with our friend Katie and hung out a bit in the lounge.  I saw this girl approach two women and hand them these lanyards.

Me being me, I walked over and chatted her up and scored 4 backstage meet and greet VIP passes to meet Florence!!

It was awesome.

Then, I realized it would be a fun engagement surprise for Haley and Blake too (who were also going to the show) so I asked the woman if I could have just two more passes and she did!  So I called Haley and they ran (literally) to the Peabody Opera House for the meet and great.  It was amazing.

Now, Here is the part where I share a bazillion iPhone pics from the night :)  And they are in random order, but who cares, because it was THAT awesome!

Florence was so cute!  Her sweet little Brittish accent was adorable.  She was super nice and personable.  She says that she loves American books because we put such nice paper in them :)  That's the one thing I remember her saying.
Good times were had by all.

The show was lovely and I had so much fun with my sweet sweet friends Jane and Katie and of course the best sister ever, Nicole.

Plus, I met FLORENCE!!!

Twinkle Twinkle...

Twinkle Twinkle Little Rockstar contacted me about advertising on RWS and asked if I would like to check out some of their lullaby CDs.  Being the music lover that I am, I was more than game.

Music is so extremely important in my life and I know that it will be just as important in our little one's life as well.

I chose to review Adele and Britney Spears and I was NOT disappointed.  Not only did I love listening to them for the review, I have loved listening to them many times since :)

The music is so calming and also so refreshing because of it's familiarity.

These albums are a great way to unwind. Perfect for yoga, mediation, and go great with a nice warm bath. LOVE these!

So I saw Karmin on Ellen yesterday and fell.in.love...

like downloaded their whole CD immediately.  This girl can rap like nobodies business and she can also sing beautifully. 

 I also love that these two are engaged. They are too cute.

Meet Russ Mohr.

The husband of my lovely friend Katie and also a very talented musician.

(Not to mention he is the designer of my blog too!)

Russ and Katie already have a beautiful adopted son, Eliot, from Guatemala and are currently embarking on their second adoption.  You can read all about it here.

As you all know, adoption is insanely expensive and fundraising is a must for most families.

Russ, being kind of a big deal with his music, created an album available for download to help raise the funds they need to grow their family.

The album is titled:

Hymns and Spiritual Songs

Here is the info:

"Hymns & Spiritual Songs is a worship EP comprised of 3 original tracks and 2 hymns by Fundamental Elements front-man and City Church director of worship arts, Russ Mohr. Russ collaborated with band-mate and close friend Luke DeJaynes, who engineered and mixed the project. All instruments were performed by Russ and Luke. Recorded at the Groove Kitchen in Greenville, IL. 

This EP was recorded as a fund-raising effort to help the Mohr family offset the expenses of adopting a baby boy in Spring, 2011. It is our hope and prayer that the music recorded on this album is a blessing to you and your family, just as your purchase of this record has been a blessing to ours.
