an afghan

Like so many others, I was bitten by the Missoni bug :)  I wrote all about my Target scores.  And I still check the section each time I go to Target :)
One of my most exciting purchases was my Missoni throw...yes, the coveted throw.
It was lovely.
I had a comment from a reader who was looking for the throw like crazy because she had the perfect spot for it in her home.  I, on the other hand, had no place to put mine.  After three days of it sitting on my dresser, I decided to send the throw to my new blog friend.
Needless to say, when I saw this tutorial,  I was beyond excited :)  I loved the colors, I loved the fact that I would be able to try (and fail) at reading a crochet pattern, and I loved her finished product.
I ran out to JoAnn's, and purchased this lovely yarn, and began :)
I have only worked on this afghan for a few hours here and there and it's already gotten really far.  I love that.

My afghan has some flaws, and I am pretty sure I am not using the pattern correctly AT ALL.  I have no idea what some of these stitches are supposed to look like.  I am kind of making it up as I go along :)
BUT...it has zig-zags!
And the yarn is wonderful and soft and the colors are perfection.
I am happy :)
Plus, now our soon to be baby will have ANOTHER hand made blanket from her mamma!
win win.

I better get back to it.

  1. I love it! The colors you used are amazing. I have been keeping an eye out for the Missoni throw, but I think my chances of getting my hands on one are pretty slim!
